Hugh McCormack
Managing Director
McCormacks is a family business founded 30 years ago by Hugh’s father, Michael McCormack, with the stated mission of bringing the professionalism of the legal industry to strata management.
Hugh has over the past decade, accelerated the business into a leading-edge strata advisory, whilst implementing modern technology to ensure first-class customer experience.
Hugh holds a Bachelor of Business majoring in Real Estate, Finance and Sustainable Development, and is sole director of McCormacks Strata Management.
With 20 years of personal experience in the business, he understands intimately, the challenges and pitfalls of strata management from a legal and financial perspective. And his real estate nous serves clients well in optimising and growing their property investments.

Financial Advisory
A dedicated and experienced senior trust accountant is responsible for the full accounting function for your scheme. CPA qualified, with a proactive approach and high level of care and attention to detail. This ensures coding is accurate and audits are completed in a timely manner, meeting strict service standards.
Clients can expect us to take an active role liaising with the treasurer in all facets of the financial management of your scheme.
Professional Strata Managers
Every scheme managed by McCormacks is assigned both a strata manager and finance manager to ensure quality management of your property finances.
Your CPA qualified finance manager is responsible for all your accounting requirements including coding of expenses, timely payment of invoices, month and quarter-end reporting, investment management, BAS, tax returns, year-end audits and detailed, line-by-line budgeting.
The finance manager is available to your treasurer at anytime and can prepare customised, reviewed financial statements with accruals and prepayments on a quarterly basis if required.
Our clients have found having a dedicated finance manager gives your treasurer an additional level of confidence your accounts are accurate and can be relied upon to make important decisions for your scheme. Further, our philosophy of active funds management earns the owners corporation more interest income.
In-House Legal
McCormacks grew out of a law firm and today retains these skills and professionalism by having several strata managers and personnel with legal training.
Whilst McCormacks solicitors undertakes debt collection for outstanding levies, we do not provide strata legal advice. We do however, consider we are properly equipped to provide guidance and resolution for matters where many agents would refer the owners corporation to external solicitors for advice.
